Divide by Zero to close 2014 gazebo concert series
MADISON – Classic rock and blues by the band Divide by Zero will close the 2014 Madison Gazebo Concert series on July 31.
Members of Divide by Zero are Jeff Engbrecht, Bob Youmans, Mark Dorner, Drew McDowell and Scott Glennon.
The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. and the band promises to “play till the police shut us down,” according to their humorous post on Facebook. The band welcomes people to come enjoy a great evening of classic rock with a blues slant.
“Bring your friends, folding chairs, drinks, bug spray and dancing shoes. We love to see a big energetic audience,” Divide by Zero members said.
Divide by Zero’s playlist will rock with hits like Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive,” The Eagles’ “Hotel California,” Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Call Me the Breeze” and “Sweet Home Alabama,” Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” and Tracy Chapman’s “Gimme One Reason.”
Madison Arts Council (MAC) coordinates the gazebo concerts.
During the cool tunes, the audience can enjoy a cool treat from Brain Freeze Ice Cream. “Their very cool ice cream truck will be at the event selling a variety of ice cream and Popsicles,” MAC President Shrail Heinrich said.
In addition, Brain Freeze will see bottled water and ice cream prepared just for dogs.
For an arts and crafts activity, members of Friends of the Library at the Madison branch will assist children in making bookmarks during the concert.
“The summer concerts are provided free to the community, thanks to sponsorship. MAC is proud to have the support of Jerry Damson Automotive Group and Madison Hospital this year,” Heinrich said.
The public is encouraged to attend the free, old-fashioned fun. “Bring a lawn chair or blanket to stretch out under the shade trees,” she said.
Another option for concert-goers is to bring a take-out meal from one on the restaurants on Main Street, Heinrich said.
