Broadway Theatre League announces 2014-2015 season

HUNTSVILLE – It’s almost showtime! Tickets for Broadway Theatre League’s 2014-2015 season are on sale.

Broadway Theatre League and Jerry Damson Automotive Group will present six productions in the Von Braun Center.

The season opens with “Jekyll & Hyde” on Nov. 21-23. Glamorous but wicked, this enthralling musical is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story about a brilliant but obsessive scientist whose alter ego wreaks havoc across Victorian London.

Parents should use discretion due to depictions of murder, lust and mayhem.

“Cirque Dreams Holidaze” on Dec. 19-21 is Broadway director Neil Goldberg’s depiction of the holidays with more than 300 costumes, 20 acts and 30 performers from 12 countries showcasing heart-pounding and gravity-defying feats.

This holiday spectacle is appropriate for all ages.

Produced by Whoopi Goldberg who starred in the hit film, “Sister Act” will be presented on Jan. 9-11, 2015. The musical received five 2011 Tony Award nominations.

“Sister Act” tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime. Her ‘witness protection’ site is a convent, which will never be the same.

“Anything Goes” on Jan. 30-Feb. 1 won three 2011 Tony Awards, including “Best Musical Revival” and “Best Choreography.” When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes. The show is recommended for ages eight and older.

“Peter and the Starcatcher” on March 6-8, 2015 won five Tony awards. The show is a swashbuckling prequel to “Peter Pan.” A dozen actors play more than 100 unforgettable characters.

“I Love Lucy – Live on Stage” will be presented March 27-29, 2015. This new hit stage show was adapted from the beloved television program with Fred and Ethel joining Lucy and Ricky for family fun.

The line-up includes two children’s shows: “Sid The Science Kid Live!” on Oct. 16 and “Ivy+ Bean the Musical” in March 2015.
