MADISON – The Christian Women’s Job Corps is conducting classes at Inside-Out Ministries at 103 Gin Oaks Court in Madison.

“Christian Women’s Job Corps is a free, faith-based job readiness program designed to provide experiences and skills that allow our graduates to compete in the job market and create a better life for themselves and their families,” site coordinator Susan Elder said.

Class times are Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. “This is a one-semester commitment for the entire program with semesters beginning each February and August,” Elder said.

She hopes women from 18 to 60 years old will enroll. Women in Madison and Limestone counties are eligible.

These women will be “attempting to enter the job market after a lengthy absence or trying to get a better paying job,” Elder said. “They may be seeking employment but lack basic job and life skills, such as computer skills or how to write a professional resume.”

Plans for the curriculum during spring semester include money management, for the “basic principles of discovering financial peace,” she said. The life planning and career class will develop a path for a student’s life and allow her to discover ways to seek a career.

In addition, a beginner’s class will explore Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A Bible study class applies the Bible to everyday life. “There are plans to expand the program a bit for next semester, depending on the response from the community,” Elder said.

Applications are available at the Inside-Out Ministries office or online at cwjc.net. “Class size is limited, so hurry,” Elder said.

All training is free. For more information, call Charmika Merriweather at 256-428-9461 or email to cmerriweather@cwjc.net or visit cwjc.net.
