MADISON – A local Farmers insurance agent reached several significant milestones in his first year as agent in Madison, a recent press release stated.

Glen Hiller, whose office sits on Church Street just down from downtown Madison, was one of 1,700 Farmers agents named to the Topper Club for 2013. Hiller attended a conference Sept. 24-26 in Anaheim, Calif. to receive the award.

“Those who qualify as Topper Club agents are among the best in the country and we sincerely appreciate all that Glen does for our customers and our organization,” said Julie Krause, head of Farmers’ East Territory region in the release.

Hiller, a first-year agent, also brought home the “prestigious” Championship award in late July from the awards conference from San Antonio.

“In our office, everything’s personal,” Hiller said. “We don’t sit here and try to sell people. We really try to work as an advisory company; everything’s about protecting our clients and working smart with them.”

As his second year as one of several Farmers agents in Madison draws to a close, Hiller admitted he’s had to adjust to the distinguished market the area provides.

“We do have a large veteran base here,” Hiller said. “Sometimes it’s difficult to reach your clients when they’re on [nearby Redstone Arsenal], so we do a lot of odd hours type of appointments.”

Hiller also chipped in with local prep sports teams with Bob Jones varsity football and Liberty Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade football squads.

“Trying to be a face in the community, also, has been another way to build our agency and try to do business with people,” he said. “We’re just really wanting the community to know that we’re here to support them.”

The Glen Hiller agency also stays active with the Madison Chamber of Commerce and the local Hogan Family YMCA.

The address for Glen Hiller’s agency is 105 Church St. in Madison. Find out more at his website (farmersagent.com/ghiller) and his Facebook page (Farmers Insurance Glen Hiller Agency).
