MADISON – The Madison Police Department has received a potential threat against Liberty Middle School. However, they believe the situation is a hoax.

“The information does not appear to be credible. However, as with all potential threats, we work cooperatively with the police department to ensure the safety of all of our students and staff at every school,” director of student services Dennis James said.

“You may notice increased security at all our campuses today. This is simply another layer of security that we add to our existing practices whenever we receive a threat. Again, this threat is believed to be a hoax and does not appear to be credible,” James said.
