HUNTSVILLE – John Allen with Southern Construction & Design and Richard Cable with Richard Cable Interiors have collaborated in a creative partnership, “The Heritage Collection,” for the Lendon neighborhood.

Lendon is located at the entrance to Huntsville’s picturesque Jones Valley on Carl Jones Drive, just to the right.

“Our businesses share common themes — delivering on unique and creative approaches to the owner’s dream for their new home,” Allen said. “We each deliver these aspects to the project.”

“Southern Construction & Design is committed to building and delivering on expectations not only in the pieces of the house that you cannot see in the walls but also on those features that are visible,” Allen said. “Richard Cable Interiors leads the client into these features with their expertise and creativity and delivers award-winning designs.”

Their partnership will deliver homes “that bring together state-of-the-art construction technique and building technologies with Old World charm and a refined design aesthetic,” Cable said. Cable’s design focuses on open, light and airy living spaces in a smaller footprint for carefree living.

Lendon offers homes from a small carriage house less than 1,000 square feet, classically detailed cottages and estate homes exceeding 5,000 square feet. Among premier suppliers, Brochette & Brochette Hardwoods of Elkin, N.C. is creating heirloom quality, bench-finished wood floors, Cable said.

Lendon’s homes vary in architectural styles from Italianate to Southern Antebellum and Cottage Living. Exterior elements vary from brick, stone, stucco and siding. Interiors have granite countertops, historically accurate trim and sand-in-place hardwoods, tile and stone flooring, Allen said.

Allen and Cable first met during the Huntsville/Madison County Home Builders Association’s 2007 Parade of Homes. Allen was president. Cable was designer for the showcase home. “We shared a passion for cutting-edge design and building technology,” Cable said.

Since then, they have teamed together on renovations, additions and new construction. “John and I ‘speak the same language.’ Combining our individual strengths, we can help our clients … bring their dream to life,” Cable said.
