MADISON – Sounds of trumpets and trombones, rock ‘n roll and pop singers will return to downtown Madison with the 2015 Madison Gazebo Concert series.

Madison Arts Council (MAC) sponsors the free weekly concerts, which run from May 28 to July 30. The 10-week concert series is free and held on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. on the Village Green along Front Street.

“Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket and relax under the shade trees. Pack a picnic, or purchase a tasty treat from one of our vendors,” MAC President Beth Ridgeway said.

Each week, a different MAC partner will host a free activity for the younger crowd. In past years, arts studios and Madison Public Library volunteers have led sessions.

“It is always changing and always fun. Plus, well-behaved and leashed canines are welcomed, too,” Ridgeway said.

On May 28, The Zooks will get the joint jumpin’ with rock ranging from the 1960s through 1980s. The U.S. Army Materiel Command Band will perform inspiring patriotic tunes and Winslow Davis will play the five-string electric violin on June 4.

Blues/rock songwriter Maxwell Russell and Tres Locos band will entertain on June 11. The Beasley Brothers, a Huntsville band that plays original music and cover tunes, is scheduled June 18.

Venerable bluesman Microwave Dave will bring his Nukes to the gazebo on June 25. On July 2, a definite treat for instrumental music lovers will be presented by Madison City Youth Orchestra, Madison City Community Orchestra and Musicology School of Music.

On July 9, Southern Splendor Chorus, an all-male barbershop ensemble, and Madison Community Band with pop, patriotic and show charts will entertain. On July 16, solo Indie rock guitarist Robbie Eichman and Ric Patton & the Chickenbone Reunion Band will jam.

JED Eye on July 23 will perform a musical spread from Credence Clearwater Revival to Bon Jovi. Fender Bender will play classic rock and dance charts on July 30.
