NEW HOPE – Students at New Hope Elementary School produced a video that earned an award at the 2015 Alabama Community Education Association Conference.

The association’s conference was held in Birmingham in March. To view the video, visit youtube.com/watch?v=p7pm56wUgmg.

“Some of our broadcasting team members created a video for the association conference. They had to dig deep into historical events, music (and pop culture) from the 1980s and did a wonderful job on the video,” Amy Conville said. Conville works as site director for The C.A.R.E Center.

The video included snippets of top-ten music hits like “Bette Davis Eyes” by Kim Carnes and “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson, photographs of events like Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding and video arcade games, like Pac-Man.

Laura Prozaw supervised the project. Prozaw work as media specialist and technology integration mentor at New Hope elementary.

New Hope’s video was broadcast at the conference and tied for first place with Baldwin County Schools. Paul Morin with Auburn University visited the New Hope campus to present the award to students.
