MARF and volunteers bring joy to families

From The Publisher

The hunt for a new furry family member has begun.

My 6-year-old daughter, Caroline, has requested a puppy for Christmas.

I have found it to be near impossible to say no to her. My wife and I have started serious planning to expand our family, and we have found a great local option.

Madison Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF) holds an adoption day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Saturday at the Madison PETCO.

Their mission is to rescue as many homeless animals from Madison as possible.

MARF is a nonprofit foundation that plans to build a new rescue-friendly animal shelter for the city. MARF’s goals also include promoting the importance of spaying and neutering.

They also educate the community on the humane treatment of animals.

It has become a Saturday ritual for my family to visit the Madison PETCO to check out these adorable pets.

MARF volunteers provide foster homes to these animals until they can find them permanent families.

To donate, to become a volunteer and to learn more about the Madison Animal Rescue Foundation, please visit www.madisonarf.org.

The Madison Record supports MARF’s efforts in our community.

We commend all of the volunteers for this important work.
