MADISON – In the spirit of their fourth annual homecoming, James Clemens held their first Powderpuff football game where all the grades would compete against each other in a tournament style event. The teams consisted of about 15 girls per team, and a group of male cheerleaders to go along with them.

The night started out with the junior girls playing the freshmen girls. Right off the bat, the juniors took the lead. One of their players Shelby Booker, stood out early on when she ran the ball and scored many of the team’s touchdowns. To no surprise, the juniors beat the freshmen and moved up in the tournament.

The second game was the senior girls against the sophomores. Eve Mallard, on the sophomore team, put up a strong fight against the seniors and was a star player for their team. However, the seniors had players Jessica Russ, Bri Long, and Bri Loyd who made sure the seniors won the game and moved into the final round of the tournament.

The final game was the top two classes against each other, the seniors versus the juniors. Gillian Gormley, on the senior team, stood out and made multiple touchdowns with Aubri James getting a conversion after their first touchdown, and Jessica Russ getting a conversion the second time.

Jessica Russ scored two touchdowns for the seniors in that game. Shelby Booker and Anna Seely made two touchdowns for the junior team, but didn’t come out with a win. The final score was 28-6, seniors winning the game.
