DAR notes constitution anniversary

HUNTSVILLE – Members of local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) celebrated the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States.

As part of the “Bells Across America” program, DAR members conducted a public ceremony at Alabama Constitution Village in Huntsville.

Participants were Beth Stewart, Constitution Week State Chairman; Janice Jennings, Regent, Hunt’s Spring Chapter; Wilma Stone, Regent, Huntsville Chapter; Penny Sumners, Regent, Twickenham Town Chapter; and Stephany Wingard, Regent, Maple Chapter, host chapter for the celebration.

The mission of DAR is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism.
