MADISON – Hogan Family YMCA will host the tenth annual YMCA Veterans Prayer Breakfast on Nov. 6.

With the theme “Courage, Sacrifice and Duty, Honoring our Military Veterans,” the breakfast opens Veterans Week in the Tennessee Valley. Doors will open at 6:45 a.m., followed by program check-in at 7:30 a.m.

The breakfast “lets our military heroes, both those who have served previously and those currently serving, know that they are cherished and valued in our community,” retired Brig. Gen. Bob Drolet said. Drolet is event chairman.

Featured speaker will be Lt. Gen. David L. Mann, Commanding General of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Offering prayer will be John Shedd and Rev. William Slade.

The Army Materiel Command “Arsenal Brass” and the Fahrenheits of Huntsville Fire and Rescue Department will perform. Madison Mayor Troy Trulock will open the program. The emcee will be Beverly Lowe, President of North Alabama Veterans and Fraternal Organizations Coalition.

Lee Greenwood, Grammy award-winning country music artist, will entertain with a tribute to the veterans.

For advance tickets, call 256-428-9622, ext. 3008, email to events@ymcahuntsville.org or visit ymcahuntsville.org/VETERANS. Individual tickets cost $20.

Reserved sponsor tables are available for $225. Organizers encourage table sponsors to offer seats to veterans to enjoy breakfast with them.

For Veterans Week on Nov. 4-11, all YMCA branches will offer free admission to veterans and individuals with valid military identification and their families. Downtown Express YMCA and Southeast Family YMCA in Huntsville and Hogan Family YMCA in Madison are extending this offer.

As part of Heart of the Valley’s ongoing commitment to supporting the total family, the YMCA offers free membership to soldiers before and after deployment and to their families while their relatives are away. Also, free summer camp and respite child care for families of deployed military is available.

In 2014, Heart of the Valley YMCA provided $192,402 in membership and programs to military families.
