MADISON – Madison firefighters responded to a structure fire in Magnolia Plaza at 10871 County Line Road, just south of the Palmer Road intersection.

On Jan. 20 at 6:33 p.m., the department received a call that a passerby observed smoke and flames above the roof of the building. When firefighters arrived, they did find smoke and flames above a dentist’s office.

Smoke also had filled the other businesses in the shopping center. The heaviest smoke was closest to dental office, Fire Chief Ralph Cobb said.

“Only the dental office sustained any significant damage. Preliminary investigation of the cause points to a laptop in the dental office,” Cobb said.

All businesses in the shopping center, except the dentist’s office, resumed normal operations the next day.
