MADISON – When Emily Jacklin isn’t slamming pitches, she is volunteering in the community and mentoring young girls.

Jacklin, a senior, plays the position of pitcher for James Clemens High School Softball Team. She has earned a scholarship to attend Calhoun Community College.

Entering her senior season, Jacklin has won 54 games at James Clemens. During her softball career, she has compiled an earned run average of 1.89 with 411 strikeouts and has a career on-base percentage of .301.

She is a leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. “I volunteer most of my time at Asbury United Methodist church and teach a group of eighth-grade girls,” Jacklin said.

“I also love to volunteer at Manna House and Miracle League,” she said. Miracle League of North Alabama provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to play Miracle League sports.

Emily’s parents are Andy and Anna Jacklin. Emily’s younger brother Evan, 14, is a James Clemens freshman.
