MADISON – Officers with Madison Police Department have arrested three juveniles on multiple charges of breaking and entering vehicles, theft and other charges.

On April 11, Madison officers responded to the area of Oxford subdivision on County Line Road about an incident of breaking and entering an automobile. A witness observed an individual inside their vehicle and called police dispatch.

Responding officers quickly located and detained the suspect, who was in possession of a loaded firearm, according to police reports. Officers continued to check the area and located two more suspects hiding in a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Huntsville.

Officers learned that all three offenders were juveniles.

During the investigation, Madison police learned that the three suspects also were responsible for the theft of a vehicle in Madison on April 1. The suspects were involved in numerous unlawful breaking and entering incidents to automobiles, thefts of property and two residential burglaries that occurred from mid-February through April 1.

The juveniles faces these charges:

* 17 counts of unlawful breaking and entering an automobile.

* 11 counts of theft of property.

* 1 count of receiving stolen property in the first degree.

* 1 count of theft of property in the first degree (for theft of a motor vehicle).

* 1 count of burglary in the second degree.

* 1 count of burglary in the third degree.

In addition, one juvenile also was charged with ‘firearm license required.’

Because the suspects are juveniles, their names and photographs cannot be published.

Madison Police Department appreciates information that the citizen provided who witnessed the crime in progress and the quick response and diligence of Madison officers to locate and arrest the suspects, according to a department spokesperson.
