MADISON COUNTY – Heart of the Valley YMCA will honor military personnel and their families who serve our country by offering free admission at all three branches during Armed Forces Week on June 24 through July 1.

During Armed Forces Week, military families can enjoy daily free access by showing a valid and current military identification. Hogan Family YMCA in Madison and the Southeast and Downtown YMCAs in Huntsville are offering this promotion.

In addition, Heart of the Valley YMCA will waive join fees for military personnel who want to activate membership during Armed Forces Week.

Amenities at the YMCA include state-of-the-art fitness centers, sauna and steam rooms, group exercise classes and free Child Watch at all three branches, with swimming pools, teen centers and racquetball at the Southeast and Hogan Family YMCA. Admission to the outdoor pool and splash park at the Hogan Family YMCA also is included.

“The YMCA has a long tradition of supporting soldiers and their military families dating back to 1861, and Heart of the Valley YMCA continues that tradition by supporting our military at home,” Heart of the Valley YMCA President Jerry Courtney said.

“Inviting our Armed Forces families and individuals into our branches to relax and reconnect is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to those who serve our country and to their families who support them,” Courtney said.

Active-duty heroes also are eligible for ongoing YMCA Military Outreach programs, including:

* Free membership for families of deployed soldiers.
* Scholarships to YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee for children of deployed soldiers.

Veterans, reservists, retirees and civilians employed with the Armed Forces can enjoy YMCA guest privileges as outlined in the Heart of the Valley YMCA guest policy.

Heart of the Valley YMCA’s corporate office is located at 120 Holmes Ave., Suite 300 in Huntsville. For more information on Heart of the Valley YMCA Military Outreach, visit ymcahuntsville.org/military.
