Smith directs sales for Platinum Mortgage

MADISON – Platinum Mortgage has announced that Jonathan Smith has been named as Director of Retail Sales.

Smith will oversee the company’s North Alabama retail operations. Platinum Mortgage is a privately held, full-service non-bank mortgage lender licensed in 21 states and headquartered in Madison.

“Our company has a long history of promoting people from within the company,” Platinum CEO Terry Clark said. “Over the last 18 years, many people like Jonathan started at entry level positions and have moved up to become team leaders, supervisors and managers.”

“We’re thrilled to have him in this position as we continue to grow the company,” Clark said.

Smith started with the company in 2002 as a retail loan officer and became branch manager of the Huntsville office in 2013. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Alabama and is a federally registered and state-licensed mortgage loan originator.

“Platinum Mortgage has allowed me the opportunity to serve the community by helping families realize their dream of owning a home, while growing and advancing my career within the company,” Smith said. “I’ve been very blessed to have worked for Platinum for the last 14 years and look forward to what the future holds for our company.”

Platinum started as a retail mortgage company in 1998 and is now a national wholesale and correspondent lender. Recently, the company moved from three separate facilities to a 25,000 square foot operations facility located in Madison Research Park.

A ribbon cutting with Madison Chamber of Commerce will be held June 16 at 11 a.m.
