Richards transitions to Raytheon after Air Force

MADISON – Dr. Wayne Richards entered the U.S. Air Force in May 2000 and departed as a Staff Sergeant in May 2008.
Richards completed Basic Training and Tech School at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
“My family and I moved from Tucson, Ariz. to Madison to work for Raytheon. My hometown is New Orleans, La., affectionately known as ‘The Big Easy,'” Richards said.
Richards worked as Program Manager for Platform Sustainment and Modernization – Land Huntsville. He interfaced with Patriot Lower-Tier Project Office, SAIC, MTA (Primes) for Engineering Services via Software, Computer Recourse and Support with AMCOM EXPRESS SED/REDCOM, ATSP3 (Tactical Command Systems, Battalion Command Post upgrades).
In addition, Richards has Capture/Program Management experience for Gates 0-11 for Engineering Services. He supports MSM capture efforts as management volume lead and drives execution strategy for MSM’s Capture Manager for both international and domestic growth initiatives.
Richards enrolled at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. and finished abroad at University of Maryland, University College in Okinawa, Japan. Richards holds an executive master’s degree in business administration from Troy University and a doctorate’s degree in business administration from Walden University.
He and his ‘high school sweetheart’ LaKeshia ‘Keisha’ Richards have been married 16 years. Keisha works for Raytheon as Section Manager for Configuration Management/Product Structure for Raytheon Missile Systems, Huntsville Operations. Their sons are Wayne ‘Tre’ Richards III and William ‘Will’ Richards.
Staff Sergeant Richards serves as Youth Council President and Young Adult Pastor for Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur. He is a member of Delta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, board member of New Orleans Legacy of Bands and board vice president of Stillwater Cove Homeowners Association.
A diehard fan of the New Orleans Saints, Richard also supports Southern University and Louisiana State University. He enjoys cooking Creole/Cajun cuisine, spending time with family and friends and giving back to the community through mentoring and outreach.
