MADISON – For this Halloween weekend, no one will need to seek outside the ghastly realm of Madison to run upon ghosts and goblins. These sprites will be flying and frightening everyone in abundance at Venture Crew 007’s Haunted House.
The Venture Crew will assemble its ghoulish ensemble at St. John the Baptist Catholic School at 1057 Hughes Road on Oct. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. The cast of characters is likely to include a creepy clown, Michael Myers’ roommates at the asylum, a frightening phantom and mad scientist.
“A number of the eerie creatures have agreed to be present and lurk the grounds for the 12th annual Haunted House sponsored by the girls and boys of Venture Crew 007,” parent spokesperson Mark Richerson said. “However, you should not be too worried if your tolerance for the supernatural is on the low side.”
“These scary creatures are family friendly … in that they know how to tone down their behavior for smaller children and spice it up for older children and adults who might like a bit more fright in their haunted house tour,” Richerson said.
The yearly phantasmal visitors are requesting a donation of $5 to support Venture Crew 007’s goals of service, learning and adventure.
In recent projects, the Venture Crew has used the money to sponsor Madison’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Family Parade and Pet Walk that assembles families, young couples and many of their pet dogs on the walking path along Hughes Road.
In 2015, the Venture Crew collected more than 500 pounds of pet food for rescue and shelter animals.
“The Venture Crew also participates in outdoor adventures like kayaking, hiking and skiing,” Richerson said.
