HUNTSVILLE – Energy Summit 2016 on Nov. 15-16 will attract commercial, industrial and government stakeholders at The Davidson Center at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
In conjunction with the summit, the Energy Expo will run from Nov. 15-18. Event organizers are the Energy Huntsville organization and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’s Energy Division in Huntsville.
The Energy Summit is a two-day event of speakers, panels and networking that will bring together approximately 400 participants around the theme: “Energy is big business. It’s also small business and a government mission.”
Opportunities will be available in the business of energy for a broad spectrum of companies, including start-ups and small businesses all the way through large energy prime contractors, Dr. Bill Carswell said. Carswell is Executive Director of Energy Huntsville.
Featured speakers for Energy Summit 2016 will be Bob Cochran, former CEO of Kaiser, Babcock and Wilcox Technical Services; Alabama Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey; Patrick J. O’Neill, Chief Technology Officer, U.S. Army Materiel Command; and retired New Hampshire Governor John Sununu.
“The market is growing in all the commercial, state and federal government sectors,” Carswell said. “The Energy Summit 2016 brings together players from across this spectrum to educate, network and create partnerships for success.”
Three main sessions will have an opening keynote speaker. The “Energy Entrepreneurs” session will examine start-up companies, both young and mature, from various energy technologies. “This session is rich in experience and will provide an exciting set of case studies and advice for commercial energy success,” Carswell said.
The “Partnering with the Government” session will review new mandates and policies from the government that are advancing aggressively for energy conservation, efficiency and renewables. This session will have major government leaders in this transition.
The “Building Bridges” session will study the network among small business, large business and the federal government. “Large businesses have small business quotas they must meet, and small businesses benefit from the mentoring and market access large businesses provide,” Carswell said.
