MADISON – Staci Krupp is a self-admitted “professional volunteer” and takes pride in helping at her children’s schools, in youth groups and with church missions.
For James Clemens High School Band, Staci volunteers in various jobs. The Jets Band “is a first-class organization that I’ve been privileged to be a part of since it was formed,” she said.
During homecoming week at James Clemens, Krupp “had the privilege of walking the parade as a first-aid person for the James Clemens Band. Walking along this route and seeing all the people lined up along County Line Road cheering on the kids in the parade just made me smile.”
The parade and its atmosphere “was truly a small-town event that you cannot find in other areas where people come out to support the kids even when they do not know a single one of them in the parade. We just come out and support!” Krupp said.
She also volunteers with Girl Scouts by leading troops and currently as manager of the leaders and troops for Madison. “This organization is instrumental in helping young girls develop into our leaders of tomorrow,” Staci said. “We teach them life skills and help them develop into women of courage, confidence and character.”
In addition, she has volunteered at Asbury United Methodist Church in many programs and ministries, both in the community and elsewhere. In Madison, “The people are so friendly and do want to help take care of one another,” Krupp said.
Born in Birmingham, Krupp grew up in Chattanooga. She graduated from Ooltewah (Tenn.) High School and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
“Don and I married in 1990. He was already living in Huntsville, and I joined him,” Staci said. “We moved from Huntsville to Madison in 1996 before our first child was born.” Don works as an aerospace engineer with NASA.
Their daughters are Kaitlynn, a student at Auburn University, and Ashlyn, a James Clemens student.
The Krupps own two “two lazy and crazy cats.” Staci’s choice of music is contemporary Christian and likes any artist “played on WAAY-FM.”
