HUNTSVILLE – Crestwood Medical Center has named Susan Bryce, a longtime Crestwood team member, as Chief Nursing Officer.

Bryce is a registered nurse and has completed graduate study in administration of healthcare institutions.

Bryce has been associated with Crestwood for more than 12 years and has provided strong leadership, especially in the area of Perioperative Services. She has served on several key Community Health Systems committees.

Among her corporate team members, Bryce has earned a wide level of respect. In recent years, Bryce has assumed more and more responsibilities providing leadership to the nursing team and has served in the role of Assistant Chief Nursing Officer.

Most recently, Bryce has worked as Interim Chief Nursing Officer since November 2016. “During her time at Crestwood, Susan has been a valuable asset to our team. Her enthusiasm and expertise motivate and enable our staff to provide quality care,” Crestwood CEO Dr. Pam Hudson said.

Before her affiliation with Crestwood, Bryce served in several leadership roles, including Director of Perioperative Services and Interim Director of the Birth Center and Women’s Pavilion at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central Missouri State University in 1985 and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from University of Phoenix in 2004.

Bryce said she is grateful to have the opportunity to assume this role and work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals. “I am fortunate to have arrived at this point in my career working with so many individuals that are committed to truly caring for patients and their families,” Bryce said.

“I am understandably proud of the nursing profession. Nurses combine compassion with knowledge and then marry those tools to critical thinking in order to provide highly skilled care,” Bryce said. “However, there are no individual roles within healthcare capable of totally providing for the needs of even one patient.”

As Chief Nursing Officer, Bryce looks forward to working with “our entire team to provide care in a manner that makes Crestwood the hospital of choice for physicians and patients throughout our community.”

“Crestwood Medical Center enthusiastically welcomes Susan to this new role and anticipates her continued contribution as a champion for nursing quality, safety and service excellence,” marketing and volunteer manager Melanie Goodsell Manson said.

Crestwood Medical Center is a community healthcare provider with a 180-bed full-service, acute-care hospital offering the latest medical advancements and surgical and diagnostic procedures while providing compassionate care,” Manson said.

Crestwood Medical Center’s address is One Hospital Drive in Huntsville. For more information about Crestwood Medical Center, call 256-429-4560 or visit crestwoodmedcenter.com.
