DAR donates to American Legion

MADISON – The Daughters of the American Revolution, Twickenham Town chapter, recently made a donation to Madison American Legion, Post 229.

DAR Regent Jackie Sheldon and Honorary Regents Penny Sumners and Lorraine Ennis presented the $500 donation to Post Commander Carlos Woods. The donation will help with funds to rebuild the Wall of Heroes Monument at Madison Veterans Park.

The monument will be dedicated at the annual Memorial Day ceremony to be held on May 29 at 11 a.m. at Madison Veterans Park. The park is located at the corner of Front and Church streets on the Village Green in downtown Madison.

Alabama State Senator Bill Holtzclaw will be guest speaker for the Memorial Day event. The public is invited.
