Kingsley values time spent at Heritage

Searching for a Christmas tree, the Kingsley family includes Camden, from left, Mark, Chase and Heather. CONTRIBUTED

MADISON – When Heather Kingsley’s family moved to Huntsville 15 years ago, they actually expected to return to Atlanta or Orlando.

“Eleven years in our current home and two kids later, Madison is very much home,” Heather said.

Madison City Schools attracted them and “has proven to be as great as we had hoped,” she said. They have wonderful friends, practically extended family; live in a neighborhood conducive for their sons to play outside; and feel welcome at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Heather finds similarities between her hometown of College Park, Fla, an Orlando suburb, and Madison. “Both are great places to raise a family and have a small -own feel. You can’t go to Publix without running into someone you know,” she said. She also lived in Atlanta, which had a completely different feel.

A University of Florida graduate, Heather is “a huge Gator fan.”

Originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area, her husband Mark is President of D&Y, a physician staffing firm. Their sons Chase and Camden are in fourth and first grade, respectively, at Heritage Elementary School. They both play baseball and basketball.

For eight years, Heather has enjoyed her role as stay-at-home mom. At Heritage, Heather is in her fourth year on the PTA board and currently is vice president, along with helping as Chase’s room mom and reading volunteer in Camden’s class.

“I love being spending time at Heritage, helping in various ways and getting to know their friends and staff,” Heather said. “We’re lucky to live in an area with such great schools. It’s nice to be able to spend time (there).”

In addition, Heather and Mark support Asbury’s weekend food bag deliveries to Discovery Middle School and the food pantry.

The Kingsleys adopted their dog Henley from MARF. They also own Rosie the cat, Pin the turtle and many fish.

For music, Heather prefers country and pop/rock. Her play list likely has Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Dave Matthew’s Band.

Eating out, the Kingsleys enjoy options like La Placita, Hunt Club and Sam & Greg’s, along with evenings out at Stem & Stein, Rocket Republic and Old Black Bear.
