Golf introduces Batchelor to new people, places

MADISON – Blake Batchelor has met many of his best friends because of the game of golf. Blake plays on the golf team at Bob Jones High School.

Golf has introduced him to numerous people, “whether it be from the school team, playing in tournaments or people I’ve met from other schools at our home course.”

In addition, Blake enjoys travelling, “a big incentive for playing golf. We have to travel all across the state for our high school tournaments. I have traveled to multiple states to participate in junior tournaments (tournaments not played through the school).”

One of Blake’s favorite aspects about golf is that “it is a family thing. It’s something my brother Brett and I have used to bond together, along with my dad.”

A junior at Bob Jones. Blake serves as vice president of French Club and treasurer of French Honor Society. He participates with National Honor Society, Student 2 Student or S2S Peer Helpers and Student Government Association Senate.

His brother Brett Batchelor recently completed his sophomore year at The University of Montevallo. Brett plays on Montevallo’s golf team.

“I have lived in Madison for my entire life. My parents moved to Madison in the late 1990s,” Blake said. “My dad’s job brought them to the Huntsville area from Tennessee.”

Blake plans to attend the University of South Alabama. He wants to major in international business.
