Family’s cheers push Fletcher on the court

MADISON – For Jordan Fletcher, basketball has always been his passion.

“I have a love for basketball. I tried football but didn’t enjoy it as I do basketball,” Jordan said. “I believe it’s in my blood.” He recently graduated with the Class of 2017 at James Clemens High School.

“I have played for James Clemens, Sparkman High and AAU teams Alabama Ice and Team 256. I am a combo player Point Guard and Guard 2,” he said.

Basketball serves as his “comfort zone. When I feel under pressure, I play basketball. Once the ball goes up, I know it’s game time. I have to put my all in the games,” he said.

Jordan’s younger brother Jaden Fletcher is a sixth-grader. “My mother is LaToya Fletcher, who works for a defense contractor. My father works for Kennametal in Gurley,” Jordan said.

Jordan’s family moved to Madison in summer 2015. “I wanted to experience playing for Coach Petty and Coach Pride,” he said.
