Asbury hosts Taste of the Holidays Market

MADISON – The Women’s Ministry at Asbury United Methodist Church, 980 Hughes Road will present “Taste of the Holidays Market” on Oct. 28.

The public is invited to the free event to shop, taste and share from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grace and Five Points buildings. Plenty of parking will be available.

“Get inspired as you taste lots of holiday recipes. New this year, shop from 50-plus local makers, artists and small-business owners who are supporting orphans around the world,” spokesperson Mary Beth Jernigan said.

Booth fees will directly support Lifeline Children’s Services and Methodist Children’s Home of Costa Rica. Asbury’s Dwelling Place Bookstore also will share proceeds with orphan-care partners.

Asbury members will prepare sweet and savory recipes available for tasting. While the supply lasts, cookbooks are free and have recipes for all tasting samples.

“We’re so excited about all the great vendors. Shoppers will have a wide variety of merchandise, perfect for all your holiday decorating, cooking and gift-giving needs,” Jernigan said.

One lucky shopper will win a free holiday dinner for eight. Gift-wrapping is free. Santa Claus will visit and pose for photos from 9 a.m. to noon.

Vendors will include Art By Katherine and Spirit Orchard, watercolor and mixed media; Sallie’s Whistle Stop Sweet Shop; Wildtree, meal kits; Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pampered Chef; Piper & Leaf, artisan teas; Athens Roasting Co., coffee; Candy’s Foods Q-Kick Sauces, barbecue sauces; Elizabeth’s Gourmet Creations, dips and mixes; and The Cocoa Exchange.

Jewelry dealers are Jewelry by Christi Spencer Jewelry, Dixie Charm Jewelry, Grace Girl Beads, Heisey Jewelry Designs, M. Arleene Hallman Jewelry, Paparazzi Jewelry, Origami Owl, Collective and Trade Fair Marketplace.

Others artisans include decorating accessories and small furniture by Cavendish Creations, Dirt Road Blessings, Handmade Kreations by Karan, Harlow Candles, HIlton’s Craft Corner, Flourish Handlettering, Creative Memories. Mad About Mesh, Michele’s Lace Place, Michelle Laverty note cards, Quillows, Ziyada, Scentsy, Southern Grand Designs and Transform Negatives.

Clothing and accessories will be sold by YippiHippi, Same Cloth Project, Sew Original by Carol, Southern Sunshine & Cotton Boutique, Sisters and Thirty-One Gifts. Clay Creations and Jan Edmunds Pottery create pottery designs. LuLaRoe dealers will attend.

Grooming items include Jamberry, Scents of the Woods, Mary Kay, Lilla Rose Clips, Lipsence, Young Living Essential Oils and Perfectly Posh.
