Last Chance Cross Country Invitational

MADISON- Host school James Clemens did well at its own special event by placing in second place in girls competition and third in boys at the 2017 Last Chance Cross Country Invitational. The meet was held at Palmer Park and featured five schools competing.

Overall winner in girls was Huntsville (No. 2 in Class 7A), which placed the top three runners, while Jenna Shereyk paced the Lady Jets (No. 5) with a fourth place finish and a time of 19 minutes, 46 seconds. Sparkman was third in the team standings and was led by Kaylee Stewart who finished sixth (19:55.80).

In boys action, No. 1 ranked Huntsville took first place followed by James Clemens in third and Sparkman in fourth. Cannon Kvicala led James Clemens with a tenth place finish (17:25.22) and A.J. Sheldrick in place No. 13 (17:34.22). Sparkman’s top runner was Austin Al-Dijaili who was No. 25 with a time of 18:06.38.

The competitions featured 82 runners in girls and 136 in boys.
