MCCO Quartet performs for open house

MADISON – In only two years, Madison City Community Orchestra has established its foundation in its hometown to entertain with both popular and classical music. Now, members of MCCO are forming smaller groups to share their music at events other than formal concerts.

These ensembles allow “us to show another side of the orchestra,” MCCO Director Sandy Weisner said.

One of the orchestra’s first ensembles is the MCCO String Quartet with members Meredith Kimmett, Danielle Wright, Molly Ginter and Jill Williamson. MCCO String Quartet entertained at the ribbon cutting for Integrity Family Care on Oct. 25.

The event included cake, champagne and soothing melodies by the string instrumentalists.

Integrity Family Care has created a different, more friendly and usable primary care experience, according to their promotions. Patients can access both a nurse practitioner and a physician with same-day appointments available for most acute problems.

In addition, the clinic offers offer lab services and X-ray in-house to prevent patients from driving all over town and standing in line multiple times for a simple check-up and diagnostic needs.

Integrity Family Care’s motto is to see everyone “Live Life Well.”

In other performances, MCCO presented their Fall Pops Series Concert on Oct. 29 in James Clemens High School auditorium. This concert included movie sound tracks, such as Harry Potter and Broadway hits from “Wicked” and “Hamilton.”

On Dec. 1, the orchestra will perform during the Children’s Lantern Parade and official lighting of Christmas trees and street decorations in downtown Madison at 5:30 p.m.

The 2018 Winter Concert is scheduled for Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at Madison United Methodist Church. The orchestra will entertain the audience with seasonal favorites and holiday selections.

“MCCO offers a much needed outlet for those that are experienced players who enjoy playing and wish to foster appreciation for orchestral arts,” Weisner said.
