Laura Brown represented Alabama in USA Gymnastics

MADISON – Laura Brown competes in gymnastics for Huntsville Gymnastics Center. 2017 marks the third consecutive year that she has participated with this team.

“I like gymnastics because you get to play and have fun while still working hard, and you get to dance and tumble. Honestly, I love to show off,” Laura said.

“Gymnastics takes a lot of dedication,” her mother Ashley Brown said. “Laura practices at the gym five days a week for a total of 15 hours per week. It is pretty much your life.”

A fifth-grader at Heritage Elementary School, Laura participates with the Lighthouse Leadership Team and National Honor Society.

Her sister Kayley attends Liberty Middle school and is in eighth grade. “My parents’ names are Ashley and Darrell. My mom is a stay-at-home mom but volunteers a lot. My dad works at Adtran and is in sales,” Laura said.

“We moved to Madison in February 2011 because my parents wanted to,” Laura said.
