Wrestling pushes to the limits, Whalen believes

MADISON – Jordan Whalen participates with the wrestling team at Bob Jones High School in the 145-pound bracket.

“I like this sport because it pushes you to your limits,” Whalen said. He is a junior at Bob Jones.

Jordan’s parents are Kelley and Tabitha Whalen. Kelley works in energy management at ADTRAN Inc. Tabitha works as an insurance agent at Wiley Insurance Agency Inc. Jordan’s brother, Tyler Whalen, is a Bob Jones alumnus and currently is a junior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The Whalen family “moved to Madison for the school system in March of 2003,” Jordan said.

Q: What are your favorite restaurants in Madison?

A: Red Fish Teriyaki Asian Express and Cricket’s.

Q: What’s your favorite food?

A: Chinese food.

Q: What are your favorite sports teams?

A: His favorite teams are the Seattle Seahawks, Clemson Tigers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: Jordan said his favorite memory from playing sports was “getting second (during) my seventh-grade year at sectionals.”

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: Jordan enjoys time in workouts at Champs, running and hanging out with his friends.
