American Legion speech contest set for Jan. 27

MADISON – Students from high schools across Madison County will compete in the Constitutional Speech Contest, hosted annually by the American Legion, Post 229 in Madison.

“Citizens of Madison County are invited to the American Legion’s 81st Annual speech contest to be held on Jan. 27 in Madison City Hall,” Post 229 Legionnaire Paul ‘Tom’ McKinney said. McKinney serves as Americanism Committee Chair.

“The contest begins at 10 a.m. and features high school students from various high schools in Madison County,” McKinney said.

“Come out and see our young American high school students speak about our United States Constitution,” Post 299 Commander Carlos F. Woods said.
