Madison Academy Advances To State Finals

BIRMINGHAM- The boys and girls teams from Madison Academy have advanced to the State Championship Games in Class 4A at the AHSAA State Finals in Birmingham.

The boys defeated Greensboro 49-46 with Calvin Bacon leading the charge for the Mustangs with a game-high 18 points. Calvin Walker added 17 as Madison Academy trailed going into the fourth quarter.

The girls led by two at halftime, but easily pulled away from Greensboro and posted a 72-51 victory. The Lady Mustangs had three players score in double digits led by Jaden Langford’s 19. Damayia Calvert added 15 and Jasmine Gracie had 13.

The boys will face Cordova in the 4A finals on Friday at 5:45 p.m. while the girls tangle with Deshler at 4:00 p.m. Friday.
