Patriot Homecoming Parade set for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday

MADISON – Patriots will carry their pride to the streets in the 2018 Homecoming Parade for Bob Jones High School on Thursday, Sept. 27.

The parade line-up will begin on Portal Lane at 4:30 p.m., and individuals should arrive for line-up from Shelton Drive. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. and proceed north on Hughes Road from the new Ace Hardware store to Bob Jones campus.

The 2018 Bob Jones Hall of Fame inductees will serve as Grand Marshals. New members are Brian Campe, Dr. Terri Johnston, Allison Helms Logan, Dr. Alfred LaShawn Malone and Jessica McKleroy. The school’s homecoming committee will provide cars for the Hall of Fame honorees.

Following the Homecoming Parade, Hall of Fame Inductees and their families will be guests in Patriot Hall on campus.

Spirit Week focused on ‘dress-up days’ on Sept. 24-28. Monday’s theme, “The Everlasting Gobstopper,” called for seniors to dress as senior citizens, juniors in midlife crisis, sophomores in college attire and freshman as babies/toddlers. Students dressed as their favorite meme or ‘vine’ on Tuesday.

On Wednesday of Spirit Week, the Patriots dressed in neon colors, followed on Thursday with a ‘Golden Ticket’ to Rome (seniors), Hawaii (juniors), Old West (sophomores) and New Mexico tacky tourists (freshmen).

In the homecoming football game, Bob Jones Patriots will meet the Hillcrest High School Patriots of Tuscaloosa on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in Madison City Schools Stadium, 211 Celtic Drive.

Students can buy game tickets in Bob Jones cafeteria during lunchtime on Sept. 27-28. Cost is $5. Individuals who are not students can buy tickets for $7 each at the stadium ticket office at the game or in advance at gofan.co/app/school/AL253.

Bob Jones 2018 Homecoming Dance will be held on campus in the main gym on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. Students cannot buy tickets at the event. Ticket price is $12. A Bob Jones student attending with a date/guest from another school must complete a school verification form and return it to the front office or library.
