New neighborhood’s fall family fun day slated for Oct. 27

MADISON — The Village at Oakland Springs, a new neighborhood on the outskirts of Madison, will be getting into the fall spirit by hosting a free “Fall Family Fun Day” open to the entire community Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

According to Jen Edwards, qualifying broker at Signature Listings, the event will help Madison residents get to know the new neighborhood while having some fall-themed fun.

“We are so excited to be a part of Madison,” she said. “The intent of the event is to begin to create the lifestyle of community here in VOS.”

The new residences will be within the Madison City Schools district, according to Edwards, and athletes from Discovery Middle School and Bob Jones High School will be at the event to assist in the activities. Edwards said the DMS volleyball team, who carry the title of county champions, will provide face painting to help provide new equipment for their team. Bob Jones football players will also be doing some fundraising of their own.

“BJHS football players will be taking orders for their spring fundraiser of delivering and spreading mulch to homeowners and businesses in Madison,” Edwards noted. “This will go toward those players’ football fees.”

Other activities include a free pumpkin patch, a pet parade, four bounce houses and games. A pumpkin painting contest will take place at 1 p.m. Kids will be able to enjoy magic tricks and balloon animals from Russell Davis. Professional photographer Rich Ortiz will also be onsite to offer free mini-sessions. A tailgater will be serving up free hotdogs on behalf of Acopia Home Loans, and Edwards said free hot cider will also be available.

In addition to all the fun, Edwards said all available homes in the neighborhood will be open for viewing. Builder representatives will be onsite to answer questions. VOS aims to provide residents with a walkable community that contains a playground, parks, dog parks and other facilities.

The Village at Oakland Springs is a sister development to The Village at Providence in Huntsville. VOS is located at 28266 Huntsville Brownsferry Road. For more on the neighborhood, visit villageatoaklandsprings.com.
