Madison’s annual Christmas Parade cancelled

MADISON – The City of Madison announced today that the annual Christmas parade, which was scheduled for this weekend, has been cancelled because of weather concerns.

The following is their statement on the matter:

“In the best interest of safety and security of spectators, participants, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors the City of Madison Christmas Parade committee has come to the difficult decision to cancel the annual Christmas parade. “We realize this is a disappointment for everyone involved; however, with a 100% rain forecast we would rather err on the side of caution,” said Paul Finley, Mayor of Madison. Multiple forecasts have called for heavy rain and strong/gusty winds to occur throughout the weekend. At this time, the parade will not be rescheduled.”
