Man faces felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with Club 3208 shooting

HUNTSVILLE — One man was booked into the Madison County Jail last night in connection with a shooting that took place at a Huntsville night club shortly after midnight Dec. 31, 2018.

According to Lt. Michael Johnson, public information officer for the Huntsville Police Department, HPD booked 33-year-old Samuel Demario Williams shortly after he was released from the hospital. According to the Madison County Jail website, Williams has been released from the jail. Johnson said Williams was involved in a shooting that occurred at Club 3208 on Long Avenue.

Williams faces two felony charges related to the incident: shooting into an unoccupied vehicle and certain persons forbidden to carry. In addition, he also faces two misdemeanor charges: menacing and reckless endangerment.

An armed security guard at the event shot Williams, who was then taken to the hospital by others who were with him during the incident. Those individuals involved have been identified, Johnson said, and the investigation is still ongoing. No others were injured by the shooting.

HPD is asking anyone who has any information related to this case to call the Criminal Investigative Division at 256-427-7270. Citizens may also use HPD’s non-emergency number, 256-722-7100.
