Jets Edge Patriots In Revenge Game

MADISON- The James Clemens Jets avenged an earlier loss on their home court to the Bob Jones Patriots and returned the favor by edging the Patriots 50-48 at Bob Jones in the second regular season game between the two rivals.

James Clemens senior A.J. McGinnis scored the four points for the Jets from the foul line in the last 90 seconds of the contest to give his team the victory. The game was tied with 14 seconds remaining and Myles Williams stole the ball from the Patriots Jaylen Myers and McGinnis was fouled putting him at the line for the possible go ahead and winning points. The 6-foot-4 McGinnis delivered, sinking the two shots and the win.

The difference in the game came down to the four points McGinnis put in from the charity stripe as Bob Jones had a two-point lead going into the fourth quarter.

McGinnis finished the night with 17 points to lead James Clemens while fellow senior Garrett Hicks added 11.

Bob Jones was led by Jaden Coleman. The junior had a game high 23 points while Myers added 15.

Both squads will head into area playoff play beginning Feb. 7.
