Huntsville author’s new book examines signs of Jesus Christ’s return

HUNTSVILLE — A publishing company recently announced that a local ministry has published a book that seeks to explain the last biblical events before the return of Jesus Christ.

The book was published through Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Dorrance Publishing Co. Inc.

In his new book, “1,260 Days Before the Return of Christ,” Pastor Donald Jones of Laud Emmanuel Ministry delves into the details of five events he said the Bible states will occur within 1,260 days—or about 42 months—before Christ’s return.

According to the book’s description, the 38-page paperback book was written to “inspire awareness of these events and their occurrences.”

“It is the author’s hope that the reader believes that these events will occur and accept the salvation of God which is by faith in His Son Jesus Christ,” the description reads.

The subject of the book has received mixed reactions on Laud Emmanuel Ministry’s Facebook page, with some in agreement commenting “amen” or acknowledging “what’s coming.” The majority of comments in opposition to the book make the point that no one on earth can know the day or time of which Jesus Christ will return—that only God knows when that will occur.

To the objecting commenters, Jones responded that they are correct in saying nobody can know such information, but that the Bible mentions signs that will occur to signal that the time is approaching. “When we see the signs of Christ return being fulfilled in the earth, then we know that his return is near, even at the doors,” he said in one such response, going on to reference the parable of the fig tree. Some commenters remained unconvinced, sticking to their original statement that no one can know the day, time or season of the return.

Jones said the five “Last Day” events he discusses in his book will occur within a certain timeframe before the return of Christ to the earth.

“For instance, Armageddon is a ‘sign’ that will occur before the return of Christ,” Jones wrote on the Facebook page, referencing Luke 21 in the New Testament. “The Battle of Armageddon is the siege and capture of Judah and Jerusalem by armies of gentile nations and the destruction of those armies by Jesus Christ when he returns to the earth. … We teach and watch for the biblical signs that will occur within 1,260 days ‘before’ the return of Christ.”

Laud Emmanuel Ministry is a church ministry in Huntsville “committed to visiting those who are sick, in prison, and preaching the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ,” in reference to Matthew 25:39 and Revelation 14:6.
