Taste the Spirit of Madison Bites and Brews will be held tonight at Insanity Complex

MADISON – An evening of delicious fun can be found tonight, April 9, at one of Madison’s largest food events, the Taste the Spirit of Madison Bites and Brews from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will be held at Insanity Complex, 100 Skate Park Drive, in Madison.

The Taste the Spirit of Madison is hosted by the Madison Chamber of Commerce and Mangia Italian Restaurant.

“Ticket-holders can sample culinary delights from over 25 local restaurants, and taste draft beer from local breweries while listening to the music of Groove,” said Pam Honeycutt, the executive director of the Madison Chamber of Commerce. “No matter what your taste, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this event.”

Some of the restaurants featured during the event will include Beignet Cafe, Chicken Salad Chick, El Molcajete Mexican Grille, Handel’s Ice Cream, Mangia Italian Restaurant, Mia’s Cafe, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe, Ted’s BBQ, Texas de Brazil, Urban Cookhouse and What’s Popp’n.
Supreme Beverage, featuring Old Black Bear, Blue Pants Brewery, Rocket Republic Brewing Company and Black Patch Distillery will host the sample brews. “No matter what your tastes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this event,” Honeycutt said.

In honor of Madison’s 150th anniversary, there will be a blackberry dessert contest just before Bites & Brews. Local chefs will judge desserts made from Alabama’s state fruit. “Bring your dessert to the event between 4:00 and 5:00 on Tuesday, April 9th for a chance to win free tickets to Bites & Brews,” Honeycutt said.

Tickets to Bites & Brews are on sale now. They are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Contact the Madison Chamber at 256-325-8317 or visit www.madisonalchamber.com for ticket and event information.

The Taste the Spirit of Madison Bites and Brews is the second part of a two-day celebration of Madison hosted by the Madison Chamber of Commerce and Mangia Italian Restaurant. The Taste the Spirit of Madison Market was held Saturday at the Insanity Complex. It featured booths from over 60 vendors showcasing merchandise and services offered to Madison residents. Several organizations also gave demonstrations throughout the event. Even the Easter Bunny had to stop to watch a dance demonstration by Kaya Pleasant of Project Dance (above). RECORD PHOTO/JOHN FEW
