Danville man charged with murder in fatal wreck near County Line Road

Three weeks ago, a young Harvest man lost his life in a fatal car accident on I-565 near County Line Road. Today, a Danville man was arrested for murder in connection with the March 20 wreck.

Morgan County deputies arrested Reaford Williams III, 29, at a home on South Johnson Chapel Rd in the Danville area.

According to Huntsville police, Williams was driving his Dodge Ram south on County Line Road. Reports say he turned right onto the I-565 off-ramp at County Line, traveling west bound in the east bound lane. This resulted in a head-collision with Troy Howard, 19, who was trying to exit I-565 for County Line Road.

Howard was transported to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition and passed away from his injuries.

He was a recent graduate of Madison County High School.

Police say alcohol was a factor.

Williams is being held in the Morgan County Jail pending extradition to Madison County.
