Madison man identified as cyclist who was killed on Wall Triana Highway

HUNTSVILLE – A Madison man will be laid to rest Saturday after he was killed this week while riding his bicycle along Wall Triana Highway.

Newspartner WAAY 31 reported that Jose Arturo Zayas, 36, has been identified as the cyclist struck Tuesday evening at the intersection of Wall Triana Highway and Boeing Boulevard, near the Huntsville International Airport.

Bystanders performed CPR on Zayas at the scene, according to Frank McKenzie with Huntsville Fire and Rescue.

Lt. Michael Johnson with the Huntsville Police Department said police are waiting for toxicology reports to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Family and friends say Zayas died doing what he loved, riding his bike. He lived, loved, and laughed every moment of his life.
