Madison teen arrested for possession of drugs at Elmore Correction Facility

Adriana Halkias

ELMORE, AL – A Madison teen was arrested Saturday, along with three other suspects for drug-related violations at the Elmore Correctional Facility. The suspects were arrested during visitation at the facility.

Adriana Halkias, 19, of Madison was arrested after detection canines alerted authorities to three vehicles during routine searches.  Also arrested were Kenyatta Graham, 41, of Camp Hill. They were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Aaliyah Danner, 22, of Montgomery was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Norman Mangione, 67, of Sylacauga, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after correctional officers searched and found marijuana in Mangione’s pocket during a pre-visitation pat search.

All four individuals were taken to Elmore County Jail following their arrests.

In a statement released Monday, the Alabama Department of Corrections said “The ADOC is committed to reducing illegal contraband by routinely providing a detection canine presence during visitations and shift changes, and conducting thorough pat searches on all visitors and staff who enter the facility. This year, the Department will focus on increasing correctional staffing as well as various other initiatives to combat contraband inside its institutions.”
