Hancock recognized as GSC Performer of the Week

HUNTSVILLE – James Clemens alumni Zach Hancock was selected this week at the Gulf South Conference weekly men’s track & field honorees. Hancock represented the University of Alabama in Huntsville as GSC Field Athlete of the Week.

Hancock collected his fifth career GSC Field Athlete of the Week award.

A native of Madison, Hancock topped the NCAA provisional standard in the shot put at the UAB Vulcan Invitational on Saturday with a first-place hurl of 17.49 meters in addition to an 11th-place showing in the weight throw at 15.49 meters. Hancock now ranks sixth nationally and first in the South Region in the shot put.
