Asbury Car Show & Kids Fest returns on March 21

MADISON – The community is invited to admire immaculate vehicles and enjoy children’s amusements at the seventh annual Asbury Car Show & Kids Fest.

The event at Asbury United Methodist Church, 980 Hughes Road will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 21. Private owners and local car clubs will participate, such as Vets with Vettes, Mustang Clubs, NACCC and EuroBrit.

“The entire community is invited to check out an awesome display of sports cars and exotics, vintage cars, hot-rods, muscle cars, imports and more,” spokesperson Rebecca Worlund. “Plus, tons of fun inflatables and activities for preschool through elementary age kids, from obstacle courses to face decorating and even the Big Green Bus.”

“The SWAT truck and Madison Fire and Rescue Department truck are sure be a hit for the kid in all of us,” Worlund said.

Pre-registered car entries are $20. Each entry will receive a goodie bag with a car show T-shirt and other promotional items. Show attendees select the car trophy winners by their votes, competing for trophies in 12 classes.

Show attendees vote to select car trophy winners, competing for trophies in twelve classes. Classes include first-, second- and third-place trophies for 1940 and older; 1941-1960, 1961-1990, 1991 and newer; a first and second Kid’s Choice; first and second truck; first and second motorcycle; furthest traveled; club participation entry; overall favorite; ‘Dog of the Show’ and the Mayor’s Trophy.

“The Dog of Show trophy is strictly for fun for the car arriving under its own power that needs the most work and attention,” Worlund said.

Car show participants can enter hourly door prizes that local merchants donate, such as free oil changes, car washes, tools and car care buckets.

Event areas will be well marked with directional signs. The event will be held in Asbury’s north parking lot, and guest parking will be available in Building 4’s lower-level parking lot and field.

All event proceeds will help support the Asbury Oil Change Ministry, which provides free oil changes and car maintenance for single and widowed women and spouses of the deployed.

“We love having the community come together at this much anticipated event for a great day that not only offers fun for families and car enthusiasts,” Chris Knox, Pastor of Engagement at Asbury, said, “but also provides a way to give back to women in our community through this event’s proceeds as we connect with them at our free oil change days while their vehicles receive maintenance to ensure they have reliable transportation.”

The next free Oil Change Day provided by Asbury’s Oil Change Ministry will be held on April 25 by appointment.

For more information, visit Facebook/asburycarfest or pre-register at weareasbury.com/carfest. Registration at the car show costs $25. Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses are available.
