UPDATE: There are 1,827 coronavirus cases statewide, 137 in Madison County

There are a total of 1,827 cases of COVID-19 in Alabama, according to the ADPH as of Sunday, April 5, at 5:35 p.m. There are currently 335,524 cases of COVDI-19 nationwide, with 9,562 deaths and 17,266 recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Madison County has 137 cases and Limestone has 32 cases.

Of 45 deaths reported statewide, 31 have been confirmed as due to the virus across the state by the ADPH. The department also reports 231 total hospitalizations due to COVID-19.

The number of total tested statewide is 13,078*, according to the ADPH. 702 have tested in Madison County, and 399 have been tested in Limestone.

*Total tested primarily represents tests that were satisfactorily performed by the ADPH Bureau of Clinical Laboratories (BCL), along with some data from commercial labs. Commercial labs are required, by law, to report positive tests to ADPH. Some commercial labs do not report negative specimens.
