Coronavirus cases increase by 15 in Madison County since yesterday

MADISON COUNTY – The number of coronavirus cases increased in Madison County by 15 over the past 24 hours. The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) says the number is now 165. Limestone County has 32 cases.

Statewide the number of cases this morning is 2,499, a 270 increase from this time yesterday.

There have been 67 reported deaths with 48 of those confirmed by the ADPH. There have also been 324 hospitalizations due to the virus since March 13.

The state now reports there have 18,982 people tested in Alabama for COVID-19, however there may have actually been more tested. Commercial testing sites do not have to report negative tests to the ADPH, only those that are positive.

There are currently 432,438 cases of COVID-19 nationwide, with 14,808 deaths and 24,125 recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.
