Cotton Row Run Cancelled

HUNTSVILLE- The surprise and disappointing announcement came from the Huntsville Track Club that the 2020 Cotton Row Run has been cancelled. The annual 10-5K race event in downtown Huntsville had been rescheduled for Labor Day, Sept. 9 from its original date of Memorial Day, May 25 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Huntsville Track Club and race organizers felt with the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing coronavirus it was in the best interest of runners, volunteers, and spectators to cancel the event for this year and look to running the annual event on May 31, 2021.

Beginning in 1980, the Cotton Row Run has been an annual spectacle on Memorial Day and had grown into one of, it not the biggest community event in North Alabama with the race touted as one of the best 10K races in the Southeast.

Current registered runners have two options- Defer registration to next year’s race or receive an electronic refund to the original payment method.

If a participant wants to defer their registration, you do not need to do anything further as your registration will automatically be entered for next year’s races. If a refund is requested, you must send an e-mail to the CRR race director Donna Palumbo, at cottonrowrun@huntvsilletrackclub.org, by Sept. 1.
