Madison resident to be inducted to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Nine Inch Nails

MADISON – Chris Vrenna, a Madison resident and Calhoun Community College teacher, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame along with members of the rock band Nine Inch Nails in November.

Representatives of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland revealed last month that, along with frontman Trent Reznor, Vrenna, guitarist Robin Finck, percussionist Ilan Rubin, musician Danny Lohner and multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Cortini, also would be inducted.

Originally, the museum only listed Reznor when nominations for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame were announced last October.

The induction special will air on HBO and HBO Max on Nov. 7. Other inductees are Irving Azoff, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Jon Landau, The Notorious B.I.G. and T. Rex.

“You can Google my past, but I don’t think about that. I think about what’s next. I think future, not past. Don’t get caught up in what happened a week ago. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve accomplished, you can always be better, you can always learn something new,” Vrenna said during a Decatur Daily interview in October 2018.

Along with performing with Nine Inch Nails from 1988-1990 and 1992-1997, Vrenna backed Marilyn Manson and Gnarls Barkley.
