Moore performs in ‘Tinker Bell,’ works with models and Sparkman photographers

MADISON COUNTY – Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy will present “Tinker Bell” on May 15-16, and Jordan #ChillCity Moore, local actor, musician and volunteer, will perform in a lead role as Peter Pan.

Fantasy Playhouse has worked with Huntsville Botanical Garden to plan this live, outdoor production of “Tinker Bell!” Suitable for families, this show gives a different view of Peter Pan’s story.

The audience will see Tinker Bell’s side of the story. “This fresh and intensely theatrical adaptation of the classic story emphasizes play and fun (and) the complicated nature of friendship. A new, twinkling light shines on all characters as J.M. Barrie’s story is reborn from this feisty fairy’s point of view,” according to Fantasy Playhouse material. (fantasyplayhouse.org)

Showtimes are May 15 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and May 16 at noon and 3 p.m. American Sign Language interpreters will attend on May 16 at 3 p.m. Rain dates are May 22 and May 23.

In other pursuits, Moore models with the Alabama Fashion Alliance, which supports and cultivates local designers and artists in the fashion and beauty industry. In 2012, fashion designer LeJeune founded the Huntsville-based alliance after success of the first Fashion Week Alabama.

“Jordan’s artistic and musical skills, perseverance, kindness and positive attitude will be the reasons why we will hear more of him in the fashion world and theater,” model Laura Voeten said.

In artistic collaboration, Moore, the alliance and the Photography Department at Sparkman High School recently collaborated on a modeling workshop at Sparkman. Models volunteering for the workshop were Moore, Jennifer Hart, Evelyn Hill, Lizzy Voeten and Laura Voeten.

For Moore, his involvement “was so important, because I’m a huge advocate for arts education: band, photography, dance, painting and theater. Exposure and education of the arts helps shape individuals, provides a positive outlet, as well as offers different avenues of self-employment.”

The workshop resulted after Eric Mittman, Photography Director at Sparkman, contacted Laura Voeten. He recruited several models for sessions with his intermediate and advanced photography students at their new studio.

Laura Voeten found it “amazing to see that the community here in Madison and Huntsville makes connections and learns from each other. Professional models working with emerging photographers at Sparkman is a great example of how we can all work together in a fun environment.”
